Allan Pierce has primarily exhibited his photography throughout New York and Florida during the past 35 years. Recent solo shows include “White Picket Fence—The Remains of the American Dream” and “Poseidon—A Subliminal Portrait,” which were presented in several venues (Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami). He was recently featured as one of five artists in the January 2016 show at the Boca Museum of Art. He is currently working on “War Babies" and “Two Sons—Dionysus and Apollo.” He also has had several solo exhibits at World and Eye Gallery in Fort Lauderdale. Pierce is a founding member of the Shubert Archive and Michael Kirby's Structuralist Workshop, and has also directed and performed experimental theater pieces (many of which included his photography) in numerous galleries and performance spaces in New York’s Soho district. He completed his doctoral studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and he received his master’s degree from the University of Washington and bachelor’s degree from NYU.
For the last 7 years, Pierce has been on the photography faculty at the Boca Museum Art School. |
