Mike Griffin Ceramics

I came to ceramics many years ago when I attended Alfred University for the Liberal Arts program. I knew nothing of clay! I met potters and great teachers who became friends and who inspired me to try my hand at making. I quickly fell in love with throwing on the wheel and that became an obsession to learn as much as I could.
pne grey thing I learned at that time was that potters, even some famous ones, are very happy to share ideas and recipes with people like me. I am honored to pass that along to people I teach these days.
After years of throwing and altering and trying all sorts of surface decorating I found my way to terra sigilatta. That is currently where my work is, I am still though continuously looking to expand on where I am artistically so stay tuned!!
